Did you know that all you have to do is slice a little circle from the top of a small pumpkin --- no scooping out the goop --- then slide your flowers into place. The goopy-seedy middle actually will keep your flowers looking fresh. What do you know?
In the arrangement below there's a variety of mums, sweet williams, marigolds and even a sprig of rosemary for a fun and easy low cost centerpiece.
What do you think?
10/10/2012:: This just in! Debbie Spore Simpson from Tennessee shared her creation with us. She used a gourd instead of a pumpkin, but it's the same premise! Hers is absolutely stunning!! Send me your pictures and I'll post them here, too! Hugs~
It is beautiful Nancy ~ I like that it is easy to make and best of all, no mess! Thanks for sharing!

I thought it was so neat that the fruit inside actually stabilizes and provides the moisture for the flowers to stay fresh. So cool. I'd have never thought of it. Thanks to the 4Hers and Miss Erma for filling me in! Hope you get to enjoy one at your house. I've got this one in my office :)
ReplyDelete5 days later and the flowers are just as fresh as Day One! Such a cool idea. My new fav fall centerpiece, for sure.
